Our Philosophy
Swim Time has always maintained a positive and personal approach to teaching. We believe that our students will excel in a fun environment that focuses on trust, safety and individual attention which helps to build their self esteem. Swim Time offers low ratio classes. All of our facilities are all kept at a warm temperature, which is optimal for learning how to swim. All our staff are qualified instructors who abide by our philosophy and teaching methods.
How we started
In the summer of 1996 Sherri Marshall, owner and operator of Swim Time, decided it was time to take her 15 years of experience as a swim instructor and open up her own swim school. Swim Time started with one location in the Thornhill area, 50 children and a goal to be the best at what we do. Swim Time, with the help of our staff, has now grown to four locations (Thornhill, Pickering, Woodbridge and Whitby) teaching over 2000 children each session how to swim.
In a joint venture with Extreme Fitness Thornhill, Swim Time opened its first indoor swimming facility in 1997. Following its great success, Swim Time opened two more locations in Pickering and Woodbridge. In 2005 Swim Time relocated its Thornhill program to its own facility at 385 John Street also in the Thornhill area.
