Policies and Procedures

CURRICULUM: Swim Time runs the Swim for Success Program, a new Lifesaving Society accredited program that provides a fantastic combination of Swim Time’s years of experience and Lifesaving’s Swim to Survive program. Swim for Success is comprised of 3 separate programs:

Tadpoles for our parent and tot levels; Lil’ Dolphins for our preschool levels; Dolphins for levels 1–10

VIEWING GALLERY: Families are welcome to watch their children swim from the viewing gallery. However, we ask that you please exit the viewing gallery promptly at the end of the lesson to make space for the next group of spectators. Swim Time is not a drop off program. Parents or guardians are responsible for their children before and after their class.

PAYMENTS: Currently a $50 deposit is required upon registration to secure your spot in the upcoming session. Starting Fall 2024 the deposit will be $100. This change will be effective for all registrations made for the Fall 2024 session and beyond. The remaining balance is due prior to the start of your first swim lesson. If you have a credit card on file, the balance will be automatically deducted.

CLOSURE POLICY: Swim Time will make its best effort to schedule a make-up class. However, in the event of closure for any reason including, but not limited to, inclement weather, an order of closure by a governmental authority, or mechanical issues Swim Time reserves the right to cancel classes without a make-up class, credit, or refund.

CANCELLATIONS: Cancellation prior to the start of a session results in a loss of deposit. Once the session begins all cancellations must be for medical reasons only & be submitted to the office in writing. There are NO REFUNDS. A credit for the remaining classes less a $50 cancellation fee will be applied to your Swim Time account. Credits are non-transferable.

Students that currently complete the last level of the dolphin program and pre-register for the next session have the flexibility to apply the deposit to an advanced course or keep it as a credit for future use. There are no refunds.

NSF Fee: Any cheques that are declined due to NSF will be subject to a $25 NSF Fee.

DAY CHANGES:  A $35 change fee per child applies.

MAKE-UP CLASSES: Each student is permitted one make-up per session. The make-up class can be booked after the regular scheduled class has officially been missed. Instructor requests for make-ups are not permitted. Absenteeism for any make-up will result in a lost class (there are no make-ups for a make-up). Make-up classes are not offered for the March Break program. Make-ups expire at the end of each session and are not carried over. Book your make-up within the Customer Portal or Swim Time App by going to account > student > make-up. There are no charges for a make-up. Please ensure you use your make-up token when booking your class.

SWIM ATTIRE: Please have your child come to class prepared with a towel and bathing suit. Long hair should be pulled back. Goggles are optional, based on personal preference. All children under the age of 4 or not toilet trained must wear an approved elasticized legged swim diaper. No disposable diapers are permitted. NO EXCEPTIONS! They are available for purchase at the front desk.

CHANGE ROOMS (Thornhill and Woodbridge): There are 3 changerooms (Boys, Girls, and family) available for use at our facilities. Do not leave any valuables in the change rooms. Swim Time accepts no responsibility for lost or stolen items. Cell phones are prohibited in the change rooms. Please keep showers to a maximum of 5 minutes.

CHANGE ROOMS (Pickering and Whitby): Everyone must use the Family change rooms.  GoodLife’s changerooms are not available for Swim Time’s customers.  Do not leave any valuables in the changerooms. Change areas and showers are to be used on a first-come-first-serve basis as children enter the changeroom. Swim Time reserves the right to assign change areas to maximize flow and minimize congestion throughout the facility. Swim Time accepts no responsibility for lost or stolen items. Cell phones are prohibited in the change rooms. Please keep showers to a maximum of 5 minutes.

PHOTOGRAPHY: Photography is not permitted in the change rooms or the pool area. If you would like to take a picture of your child, you must make arrangements with a staff member at the front desk. Staff reserve the right to view photos if there is a concern. You accept that you or your child may be photographed by Swim Time and such material can be used by Swim Time for training and marketing purposes. If you do not want your child to be photographed, please notify the office.
