How many children are in the swim classes?

1:1 private class or 2:1 semi-private class (kids from the same household)

At what age can my child start swim lessons?

We recommend that your child have head control before starting a parent and tot class, usually at 3 to 6 months. At 2 years old a child may start the preschool program without a parent in a 2:1 ratio.

How long are the classes at Swim Time?

All classes are 30 minutes.

How warm is your pool and is it a salt water pool?

All our pools are kept at 86-88 degrees and yes, they are all salt water.

Can all my children have classes at the same time?

Yes, we will do our best to ensure that all family members are enrolled in swim classes at the same time.

Can I request an instructor?

Yes, we will do our best to accomodate instructor requests. However, if that instructor is not available, Swim Time will choose an instructor with a similar teaching style to the instructor that you requested.

What types of payment do you accept?

We accept e-transfer, debit, Visa and Mastercard.

What if I need to cancel a swim session that I already registered for?

There are NO refunds.

All cancellations must be submitted in writing via email. Cancellation prior to the start of the session will result in the loss of your deposit. There are no same day notifications, credit will be calculated from the next scheduled class forward.  A $50 cancellation/administration fee, plus the cost of classes used up to the date of written notification, will be deducted from the credit issued.  All credit notes are valid for one year from the date of issue.

Is there a discount for more than one child?

Yes, we offer one of the following discounts for every family:

  • If you are registering two children, there is a $15 discount for the second child.
  • If you are registering three or more children, we offer 10% off the total cost.

Can I change a class after I’ve already registered?

Yes, you can always change to a different day or time if there is space available. A $15 change fee will apply per child.

Do you allow make-up classes if I miss a class?

Please notify the office in advance if you cannot make your class.  Every attempt to reschedule your lesson will be made.  If we cannot find a suitable time to make up the class it will be added to your file to be used within one year.

What happens if Swim Time has to cancel a class?

Occasionally, Swim Time may have to close for reasons such as weather, pool fouling or mechanical issues. We will do our best to notify all customers as soon as possible. A make-up class will be issued to all students for the current session.

Do you have separate changerooms?

Wrap and go policy in effect: No use of change rooms other than emergency bathroom use. We ask that you please shower and change at home.

What happens after my child completes Red Cross Swim Kids level 10?

If your child is 12 or older, they can start the Bronze program. However, if your child has completed Swim Kids 10 and is not yet 12 years of age, the Swim Patrol is a great swim program which prepares them for the Bronze class. Why should I choose Swim Time instead of my community centre?

Swim Time offers lower ratios, warmer water, and the Red Cross Swim Kids program. Swim Time feels each student is an individual and we will work with each one to achieve their goals.
